IROC-Z Vs Z28
What I was wondering is what is the difference between an iroc z and a z28 of the same year? Cause you can get the same engine in a Z28 that an Iroc has, I mean is there like a suspension package with the iroc that the Z28 doesn't have or what? They are exactly the same (except badges) visually, unlike the RS which has an appearance package. Just Curious. I think it's more less paying for the name... But i could be wrong.

RE: IROC-Z Vs Z28
Well I found the answer... so i'll answer this myself lol..
A new option, the IROC Sport Equipment Package (RPO B4Z) debuted in 1985.
Named for the International Race of Champions, which at the time raced Camaro's under Chevrolet's sponsorship,
the IROC featured lower trim height and center of gravity, special front struts, springs and jounce bumpers, Delco-Bilstein rear shocks, special rear springs and stabilizer bar, higher-effort steering, increased caster, front frame rail reinforcement, Goodyear Eagle P245/50VR black wall tires on 16x8 aluÂ*minum wheels, fog lamps, numerous chassis tweaks, and unique graphÂ*ics. The IROC was not a separate Camaro model; rather, it was an option available with Z28 models. This was a Camaro capable of .92g's in skidpad tests and seven-second 0-60mph times, all in showroom trim.
So I was mostly right it did have a suspension package on it but that's not all.
