Default Interested in Getting a 3rd gen

Hi everyone.. im in need of a car. and i decided to go with a 3rd gen camaro.. i saw a 85 super clean camaro for 1000.. wich is right on my price range.. what are things to look for in these cars? The car looks great inside and out and i just think this is too good to be true.. So i think maybe there might be some electrical or engine problems.. tips/advice?

Depends on where you live. You gotta remember that 85 is a old car. Its not on KBB any more. If you live a big city cars tend to be cheaper from what I have seen.

Your gonna have to have them turn it on and listen to how it sounds, what color the exhaust is. (if its blue thats bad). Your post made it sound like you did not look under the hood. If the engine is covered in dust and dirt thats normally a bad sign, you can pretty easily tell if its bad or not.

Have them take it to a mechanic for an inspection and offer to reimburse them if you buy the car. Shouldn't cost more than $100 and will immediately let you know of anything that might have gone wrong with it.

And since you're offering to pay for the inspection anyway, the only reason they'd have to decline is if they know something isn't right.

I live in Los NAgeles California.. and the car is outhere.. judging by the pics in the add the engine bay looks pretty clean.. I know a little about cars i work on mostly foreign cars and i've never had an american car.. I've always loved the camaro and i really whant to get one now.. i kno something is up with the engine if i were to hear weird noises or a knock.. im just wondering what else to look for on these 3rd gens anything that they are notorious for?>
