Igntion Problem Questions
I have a 87 Camaro that i bought from a guy a while back and it has a start button isntalled. I want to remove it but the guy had it installed because when he turn the key, nothing happens. What could be the problem. Could this be the Ignition Module went bad. Not sure where to start looking. Any help would be appreciated.
Strangely, it could simply be the key switch. I have a second gen that I installed a push button into because nothing happened when I turned the key switch.
A few months later I replaced the key switch because it was wore out. I noticed one day that the ignition wire was once again hot.
Try replacing the key switch. They are cheep. Then you just need to figure out what wire is hot only when the key is turned to the start position. On my 78 the wire is purple. Take that wire and run it to the starter solenoid.
