Tach is laid out in 100's, so 10-15 would be 1000-1500 RPMS, As long as you have decent positive pressure 15+ you should be fine. Where on the gauge is it at idle and at say 2000 RPMS?

1000 to 1500 RPM idlle is really on the high side. Should be between 550/750 RPMS. Adjust the idle or the IAC (idle air control) valve needs replaced.

Oil pressure should be high at 60PSI on start up and then drop after warm up to about 15 PSI at idle, Oil pressure will increase with engine RPMS,would be normal. No movement on the oil pressure gage could be the gage is not working or you have internal engine problems.

How many miles on the motor. Gage could be worn out. Oil pump could be worn as well. You can grab a cheap one from the parts store if it bothers you. 1500 at idle is too much.

Is your 87 fuel injected or carb'd? Because I have an 86 305 carb'd and mine idles around 1000- 13000? And I was told that's Normal for the car. Do fuel injected and carb have different idle?
