Default idea

I have a 1991 camaro rs 5 sp. and i plan on building it up. My idea is to get a 4 bolt main 350 block and build it up from that.

My ideas for a build were just the standard eagle rotating assembly kit, gm performance cast vortec heads with the eldebrock vortec intake a comp cams xtream energy Lift: .502''/.510'' Duration: 276°/282° cam, with a holly 670 cfm throttle body.

Now this is the first engine of my own that i will build so i may be way off on what im trying to build but what im looking for is around 10.1 compression and close to 400 hp. I want it to be a street/strip car i plan on doing some coilovers on the front and doing everything that i can to add to the handling performance because we do have a road coarse close to home i plan on taking it to. Does this set up sound good or am i way off?

The 5sp is the weak link in your idea.

how much does that 6 sp. run and how much fabbing does it take to put in? i def want to keep a manual in it. im not looking to be the fastest in town just to satisfy myself going down the track or on the course.

Your dream idea needs to be refined, because the costs this project are going over the top. Unless you love that car, I would suggest buying a 6sp LS1 4th gen car. a lot of cheap ones out there.

thats an option. But BE SURE to get one from a LT1. The LS is a different bolt pattern and will never work. Also, try and get anything you can for it in regards to linkage and what not. You can always try and sell the stuff you didnt use.
