I just got a 1990 rs
I just got a 1990 rs for 700 bucks. At first I was not going to buy it because of the paint but after I drove it I respected the car. It has alot of miles on it but the previous owner kept the car well maintained mechanic wise. I needed a car asap so that I can go to work and school so I bought it. I have a friend that has a 1998 trans am and he is constantly hating on my car and he is making mefeel like I should not do anything to it but I feel that i should because the car is cheaper to maintain and make it go faster. I know with a couple hundred bucks the car could be something really great. What do you guys think should I go through with it or listen to my friend and get a 2002 camaro. The rs is a v8 and I also have an lt1 and trans to put in it.

DO NOT LISTEN TO UR "FRIEND" there is an endless list of **** u can do! the first thing u need is to know is how ur going to drive it, i.e. daily driver or street/strip after that get a buget the bigger the better ive got $9000 in to mine

as a daily driver, on a car with a lot of miles, i wouldnt suggest going anything more than an exhaust setup, and maybe something with your intake. but do not go spending a lot of money on the 305. But if you dropping that lt1 into it, then be sure you rebuild it before you put it in, might as well while its out.

Been there, done that. I got mine with a 305, 120K plus on the motor. I thought, Camaro, V8, speed demon, right? That 305 was a DOG! Even with intake and a carb, she still was pathetic. Then I added headers and dual exhaust......woke her the phuk up! Headers and exhaust go for about 300 on Ebay. Its alot of work because these 300 dollar kits are pretty generic, but MAN do they wake it up.

I really like the third gens because they just look so aggresive. I think I am going to just put the 3 inch exhaust because it can be re used when I put the lt1 in but I dont think I will be putting that in until my motor goes. I really dont see that many 3 rd gens around on the streets of philly no more but I do see a ton of them in the junk yards with 350 tpi motors in them. It's pretty sad to see them like that. I had2 4th gens a 95 z28 and a 99 z28. They were a blast to drive but I ran in to some finacial problems and I had to let them go. My ls1 camaro motor went but my lt1 ran like a dream once I had fixed the iginition, I thinkthe lt1 is a great motor.
