How to remove the seats
I looked in the haynes manual and found nothing. I'm pretty sure the front seats are just 4 bolts but what about the back seats. Anyone know, or even better, have some instructions written up on how to remove the seats?
Front seats are four(each seat)13 or 14 mm fasteners, Bottom back seats are removed by the same size fastener located in the center of the seat down low into the carpert. Rear back by two more fasteners on the sides(you will see them).

front seats are 4 bolts. Rear seats are one bolt under the seat. The backrest is 2 bolts that you can get to pretty easy after you take out the bottom cushion. It took me 10 minutes to change out the seats in my car.
theres 2 different types of back seats actually, possibly three but ive never seen the third, the first two the bottoms are both seperate peices, once the upper peice if one peice, on the other the back rest are seperate for each, ive been told theres also a solid one peice bottom but i have yet to see one. the bottoms come up pretty simple, if you grab the back of the bottoms and pull foward they should come up and you can get to the one or two bolts that hold them down from there(my 86 had two, my 87 only had one) the upper peices if its the solid set there will be a hinge one each side on the bottom, take out those bolts and itll lift right out, if its the two seperates there will be a one hinge on each on the outside side of them, and in the middle there will be a middle bar that you have to slide them off of, just jungle it around a little bit if you cant get it then itll come off. but dont worry its a very simple task, 15min at most if you got the two seperats, less than 10 if you got the solid.
Very well explained guys, one thing to add remove the three phillips head screws on the backing plates,(sides of rear backsupport) there for the rear shoulder straps, cant remove the top portion til you do that, and there is a metal dowel in the center hump in the carpet, that each top section aligns too. make sure when reinstalling that you get them in all the first, or they wont align right or fold for chit!!
Thanks guys, i checked yesterday and the bottom seat only have 1 bolt in the middle under the seat. The back is 1 piece so it'll be pretty simple. I'm going to look at a set of tan leather seats froma 96 (ithink) hopefully they'll fix and look nice in my 84 to replace the crappy seats i have now.
dhighway: i think the rear shoulder straps only came in 1989, earlier versions only had the lap belt but very well explained for the later 3rd gens. Thanks to everyone.

Since someone else somewhere will probably be wondering the same thing as me here's a quick "how to"
The back seat is a 2 piece bottom and 1 piece top
Needed: Medium sized philips screw driver
14mm Socket and Ratchet
For front seats: Remove the 4 plastic caps covering the bolts using the screw driver.
With the 14mm Socket remove the 4 bolts
Pull straight up on the seat, it may require a little wiggle to get them out.
For Back seats: Each bottom part has 1 bolt pointing horizontally and is located in the middle of the seat. Remove the each bolt with the 14 mm socket
Pull the seat towards the front, it is velcroed (sp?) to the back part.
The back piece has 2 bolts one on the far left one on the far right. These bolts are vertical and under the lowest part of the seat. Again using the 14mm socket remove each bolt.
Pull the back part up and remove.
It's that easy, i did it in about 15 minutes. Now lets hope those new seats are nice!
I'll buy a digi cam once i get my next paycheck and keep you guys updated.
