Old saying....IF YOU HAVE TO ASK HOW MUCH IT COST YOU CAN NOT AFFORD IT.

Also it depende on who is going to do the work and what parts you will need. Five years ago for example I spent $7K installing a crate 350. But that included a lot of new parts and HP is not cheap.

A Gazillion dollars give or take. Save up that much and no matter what the shop labor rate is for the area YOU live in you should have enough.

More so, when you are thinking about a V6 to a 350 swap. Too many things have to be change and the parts are not compartible.

just to give you a idea, i just did a 2.8 v6 auto to 350 auto swap carbed of course, not includding the engine work, just using the engine as i got it(it ran perfectly) im up to 5,700 includding the suspension upgrades needed(springs and shocks) used trany and engine, and all the needed parts, probably somewhere in the area of 150 hours including tear out, installing it, wiring, fuel lines, tuning, suspension. the average shop charge anywhere from 30-90 a hour. so lets just say you can find someone to do the swap for $30 a hour theres 4500 just in labor, 9000 if they want 60 a hour.

on the other hand you can pickup a very nice 350 iroc or z28 for under 6000.

unless yours doing it yourself, forget the idea.

Well now I do not feel so bad about the 4k + it cost to do my mom's 2.8 to 4.3 S10. That is including new suspension and steering parts. I built the motor from 3 donors and had a 97 and 98 Astro van for a few parts. Plus I bought a wreck Astro and a running Astro that had a cat knock for 500 and fixed the cat with the one from the wreck and sold it for 1600.
The thing is if you find a wreck Camaro with a V8 and yours has a good body then that is great. I bought my 84 Z28 wrecked and it came with the quater panel to fix it but was such trouble I bought a 86 shell for 300 and swapped everthing into it. I know the cars well and just day light hours after work and I had an empty shell looking like a complete car in two weeks.
