Default parts car?

there is a white maro for sale about 45 min away from me for 500 bucks. didnt stop to look at it, in fact i barely saw it, but ive been thinkin about goin back and makin an offer, i figure i might be able to use certain parts in my car that i may or may not need. and sell everything else, maybe even make a few bucks out of it. What do yall think? from the drive by it looked just like a regular everyday RS.

i picked up a 86 Z last fall for a parts car, and i can tell you while it was worth it for me(i did a full conversion on a base coupe) just the shear amount of room it and all the stripped parts took up and probably about 4 weeks to strip it down would make me weary about stripping another one down. also as long as your not looking for engine parts you can usually pick them up even cheaper, i paid $200 for my z and it was a fully loaded t-top car, 145mph dash, delco sound system, everything, and i just saw a 91 rs with a blown motor sell for $225 a few days ago.

another option, a budy of mine did, he picked up a parts car for his 79 trans am, the owner couldnt get it started, but it had some rare parts and agood body, picked it up for $600, threw in his stock 301 from his trans am(you can also pickup a cheap 305 from most junkyards for under $200) switched out the parts he wanted for the ones they were replacing from his car and sold it for $2000

whats crossed my mind a few times is seeing what kind of shape the body and interior is.. if its in good enough condition, i was gona swap the engine and transmission, maybe the rear end from my current car to this one. But i REALLY doubt its any better than what i already have. But i might get lucky. Even if i had to swap a few interrior parts over, still would be worth it. im gona head out this week sometime and check it out

$500 for ANY 3rd gen Camaro in practically ANY condition is a good deal. There was a 1983 3rd gen here locally for sale for $500--and the kicker was it actually ran and didn't leak any fluids! Not to mention there was no body damage and the interior was in decent shape. I didn't have the cash to buy it--too bad it sold before I could come up with the cash. The moral of the story is, if it has an engine, and interior, and four wheels I'd buy it for $500.

why thank you 91camaro, and yes, i do work out.

but it is rusting in a few places, up around the t-tops and behind the rear fenders. normal places, but if this body has NO RUST, that would be great. Plus its got about a million little parking lot dents on it to..
