Well im in the same boat as you. Our 305 tbi sucks, so about the best thing you could do is get a full exhaust (muffler, high flow cat, ypipe, and headers) then a edelbrock tbi intake. After that new fuel injectors and fuel pump. Then a new cam and chip. Then some new heads. Or just drop a gm 350 crate in and put out 290 stock hp.

doing a cam without doin work to the rest of your intake is almost pointless. If you do a cam, wait untill you can do more things with your intake, ie. heads, carb or injectors, manifold... A decent upgrade for you would be an exhaust setup. If you feel like forkin out the cash and time, you can do a block back type like i did. Headers, new cat, and a full 3 inch exhaust all the way back. That all cost be about a grand, but i got really nice headers. So its up to how much you wanna spend to get that extra horse or two

I should be picking up my 92 RS this weekend.. I did go for a test drive and it seemed ok but could not really boot it to feel what the power is like as it was raining/wet roads.. is it really that bad power wise?

WHats the manufacturers figures for 0 - 100Kms?

I was actually after a 350 model but they seem hard to find, although I can hopefully trade up the RS
for one with T-Tops if the right one comes along in a few months.

Thanks

i have a 305 tbi and it sucks for power. its a good daily driver but when it come to racing it doesnt have it. you will need a exhaust and intake atleast because it is so highly restrictive.

Ok well I will see what it's like when I get it...

The car did not feel too bad on the move, but read few reports which keeps on referring to the engine as "weak-kneed" and no guts etc.. Thats maybe just as well for me getting used to left hand drive RWD auto...

Not sure how much a full exhaust (from engine back) will cost here in UK plus induction upgrades.
Are those upgrades pretty cheap in the US?

Is there a massive difference between 305 TPIs (Z28s) and TBIs in terms of performance?

Cheers
