Yup I bench bled the master cylinder thanks to educational videos on youtube.

As for the bleeding process I would close the bleeder screw half way through her third attempt at pressing the pedal. And Mtowles I saw that same suggestions after the fact too about the hose going into a bit of brake fluid I was going to rebleed everything and try that method too.

Thanks for the replies everyone!! Looks like I'll redo the bleeding of the system first. Still new to all this mechanic stuff but all you need is a desire to learn right? That's what makes the car your own. Doing it yourself IF you can. I'm having fun so far!!

That's the one-man method, but I prefer not to suck the old fluid back up. Another one man way is to replace the regular bleeders with speed bleeders. They have a check ball so they don't suck air or fluid back, and you don't need to worry about keeping the end of the hose submerged.
