Scott, I ran my fuel line along the drivers side, then along the K frame over to the fuel pump. You can kinda see it right behind the center link in this picture:

well well well.......I did some tests today and found I had a 205* thermostat in there. Im switching to a 180. Maybe add a pusher electric fan to help out a bit. This alone should make a difference!

Think I may tear off the header wrap....

Dumbass. Haha j/p. Advance has a Mr. Gasket high performance 180 degree T stat. I'm running it in my car and its much more stout than a regular Stant.

Did the header wrap come out that bad?

Hey C4, thanks. How long has it been? Im thinking almost 6 months.....

Hey Jr, kiss my posi rear end. Much more stout? Yeah, cause a bored 350 puts such a demand on thermostats that Mr. gAssget needs to put out a HIPO model? I bet you drink plenty of 'extreme' drinks too.... 8^P

Honestly, I NEVER thought to check the t-stat. Too much other stuff going on with the engine. Between the bad temp gauge and the vapor lock, it was the last thing on my mind....Maybe next week Ill relocate the fuel line.

Yeah, the header wrap was THAT bad. It looks like my pipes are wrapped in burlap. After 4 hours I stopped trying to make it look pretty and just wanted to finish it. I still havnt sprayed it with the finishing paint (how Im gonna spray in the engine compartment, um ,I dunno yet....) I still think Ill wind up tearing it off......

I ran new line all the way back to the tank with Aeroquip AQP Stainless Steel Braided Racing Hose and crimped AN fittings.

It's rated to 1000 degrees and 300 PSI. I'm an Aeroquip distributor so if you need anything lemme know and I can get you a good price.
