Help removing speedo
Hi-
Gotta 1989 RS with a sick speedo. I need to replace it. I have the service manual, but it might as well be written in chinese. I've managed to get the trim panel and cover glass off, and the cluster retaining nuts removed. The cluster is loose, and only seems to be held in by the speedo cable. However, the manual says to pull back the panel and remove the two speedo cable retaining screws. I can see them if I'm on the floorboard of the driver's side, but unless I can shrink to about 2" tall, there is no way I can reach those two screws. Is there something that I haven't disconnected? I've tried pulling and tugging at the speedo cable to get more slack through the firewall, but it hasn't gained me much.
Please help, or direct me to help if you can.
