Then you might as well go back and check for a kink in the oil line. Did you use the plastic hose (bad idea), or copper (good idea)?

Being that your fan wiring was messed with, you may want to check that the fan is not wired backwards and spinning backwards, and blowing air towards the front of the car.

Oil pressure is low, You oil filter may be to restrictive what brand your using.
I had this happen to a few weeks ago....

Over heating - I'm going through the samething was going up to 235 now 180 to 210. I have install a hood scoop running dual fans and shroud.

With the hood up temp can ran around 165 to 170

My headers temp can run up to 400 to 675 so I'm working on getting the heat out.

Things may have the temp go up, oil to thick, timing off, stat not opening, exhaust restrictive, low coolant, fan not pulling enough air across the radiator,
carb to big for the motor/ not jetted right.

it sat for a little while. i now realize i have a coolant leak. and as far as running car with low oil pressure ...i believe i have a kink in the plastic line. it gives me no indication of actually having low oil pressure ( ticking) except for the gauge. my timing may be off cuz i dont have a timing sight to adjust. i kinda played it by ear when i timed it. rush rush if you know what i mean. i have an aftermarket timing cover and the sight would not line up. so if anyone knows where i can get one let me know. chevy dont offer it.
