Default Help: 88 V6 Camaro no spark

Hi guys I am trying to help a friend out but may be in over my head. Anyways he took to a not relaible mechanic and they couldnt fix it. Here is the deal.
turn ignition and nothing. no spark, no turning of the motor or signs of cranking. mechanic supposably replaced ignition module, cap, rotor and and everything and no spark. And was very happy to get it out his yard. But now its in my driveway
I am not really sure where to start on it I tried checking for error codes. no codes just code 12.
I know this doesnt help much but maybe we can start with this and i can check as we go.
thanks

Pull the cap off. Start the engine to see if the rotor arm turns.

While the key is on and the cap off, take a test light to the hot side of the module. If the test light turns on, you have power there.

Use both tests above in no certain order.

I am not sure of what you are saying, it will not turn over like its a starter problem? but that makes no sense why the mechanic was messing with the spark moduel.

I'm with Gorn, try to figure out why its not cranking. The ignition module shouldn't be messed with just yet. Make sure you have power going to the starter, then make sure the starter is still good.

I don't think they did. I remember the Vets having VATs but not the Camaro's.

check the fuseable link. its a inline fuse for your electrical system. looks like a bump in the wire.
