This is an unusual one....I finally brought the car home from body and paint (15 months later) and am now putting things back together and tying up loosed ends. Anyways, the body guys burned up my hatch assist motor when aligning the hatch lid, no problem it was 23 years old anyway, so I bought a new one, installed it myself and it worked fine til the day I brought it home, the motor wouldn't return to up, so I figured it was the switch. I removed everything from the housing and manually flipped the switch, and re-connected power, boom worked like a champ. So I figured I would put it back and double check that it goes down, yep it went down but won't open now.....even with a key. Has anyone had a hatch that would not open, if so how did you eventually get it open?
