Default got a question

im getting a 91 firebird with a 5 speed and a 3.1 v6, and i am wanting to put a V8 in it, but im in a pickle here, i dont know whether i wanto to spend the money on getting an LT1 and a T56 transmission to put in it, because that will be real expensive with buying the motor, transmission, and all the conversions, my question is , should i go with the the LT1 T56 swap or should i go with carbureted motor like a 400 small block. what should i dooo. im confused.

The LT1 would be a great swap. Try to find a complete package out of a Z or Firebird including the computers etc. It would be much simpler.

that t56 rebuild is right around 2 grand i think... i wouldnt swear to it, but thats what i think it runs. putting in that tranny isnt REALLY hard, but its by no means a weekend project for the regular joe. as for the lt1, i wouldnt think it to be much more than 4 new. if so im sorry, but im wrong, it happens to the best of us

LT1 with a t56 would be **** hot.. I hope to get a corvette LT1 in mine because its easier and more powerful along with the T56. LT1's get better gas mileage as well lik 25 highway or somethin. heres a swap site http://www.geocities.com/texaslt1/lt1swap/swap.html

im just gonna go with a carbureted and built 400 small block if i can find one. its a whole lot cheaper and easier, i dont have 6,000 to put into a motor and tranny. when i get it done i will show you guys what it looks like.
