Got my 91 Dash installed in my 84 (have some questions)
Hi,
OK, got the dash installed in my 84. Took some time getting it in there, but it's there.
Now have some questions on some connectors and wires.
These 2 connectors are physically the same as the ones on my 84, but the wires are different colors, and are not in the same places. Does anyone know what these connectors are refered to as? Or does anyone know what each wire is for on both years? These connectors are located on the passenger side, near the computer.
I want to make sure I know what each wire is, and if I have to move it on the connector.

Well just a little update,
I have almost everything working now.
I'm hoping somebody might know about this tho, The SES light is not working right, and I'm not sure if it's just differences in the 91 and 84 dash or what.
On the 84 dash, off of c207 the wht/green wire goes to the 'light control module' and then up to the SES bulb.
On the 91 dash, I don't see module of this type.
What I'm noticing is, off the cluster is a brn/wht wire that connects to the ECM. Without even hooking this wire up, I get 12v on it. So it seems to be getting 12v from the cluster, is this normal on the 91 Dash?
I hoping someone knows how the circuit works? Is it a when the ECM find something wrong, it ground the brn/wht wire and that completes the circuit and lights the bulb? type of thing?
Or now I'm wondering, I had to bypass the starter module because of the VATS system in the 91 dash. Do you think that maybe there is some other VATS related issue causing that SES light to light? If so, how do I bypass the other systems?
Well since I'm here, here are some pics of the dash installed.

sweet **** man im going to do this same thing on my 84 b/c mainly the 85 mph speedo aint cutting it its either that or buy a new guage cluster with all autometer guages from year one but thats 600 bones or somthing so we will see
not to hijack the topic but when you get a new speedo can just take out the old and put in the new or does something need to be recalibrated?
funny you should mention that.
I just hooked the speedo up today, you'll have to order the right gear for the VSS drive. The gear depends on your tire size, gear ratio ect.

I got mine from there, but they do rape you on shipping. almost 13 dollars for something that would fit in an envelope. I've been told you can get them from the dealers still, so if you have one near ya, go there.
I ordered both the drive and driven gear, but looking at the new drive gear and the old one. They look exactly the same, so I didn't replace it.

Ya, this has been a fun project. Learning a bunch about the car too. Plus it just looks so much better!
