it won't help

you, like me, on our 3rd gens have an LO3 engine. The cylinder heads are pathetic and stop flowing well somewhere around 4000 rpm's. Why do you think there is a good torque number but low HP?

Without spending significant expense and time, do not expect the car to perform like a 4th gen or modified 350.

I know what I have in my 3rd gen car and don't expect it to perform like my 07 Stang or 95 LT1

I suggest that you put on some headers, a y pipe and free flowing exhaust, get an open element air filter and a tune. Then, change your rear gears and you may find the car to be peppy enough around town.

big blocks will fit. its been done numerous times with slight mods.
ls series engines have been done numerous times also and the peices to bolt it in are sold daily.
all sorts of swaps have been done. it all comes down to money and how fast.
boosted, nitrous, or n/a. its all been done.

figure the budget first. then pic the swap parts.
big block or small block and carb--use the intank pump and a regulator.
ls or tpi drop the tank and redo the fuel supply.
