So some of you guys know that I found a junkyard that had 3.73 rear end for me. I put the part on hold and they charged my credit card. I was waiting for them to call me today to come pick it up. So 2:00 rolls around and they havnt called and I drove out there. 30 minute drive....

I get there and he tells me that they pulled the cover on what was SUPPOSED to be a 3.73 but was ACTUALLY a 2.72. Then the guy says that the 2.72 will give me better off the line launch than a 3.73? After several minutes of going round with him, he says he can have a 3.73 in by Tuesday 9gotta get it from a yard in Buffalo). I told him to refund me HALF of my money now, and if there is no 3.73 on Tuesday that I want the rest back from him.

How much you wanna bet he tries to sell ma another 2.72 rear end?

i agree, either he dosent know what hes talking about, or he knows EXACTLY what hes talkin about and hes trying to fool you. And no, the 2.72 will NOT, i repeat, WILL NOT give you better launch. Do you see dragsters with 2.72's in them? i think not..

 

Im gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. If there is no 3.73 on Tuesday, Im walkin. I called him again when I got home and said "Id better be able to see 41:11 on the ring gear. If it says ANYTHING else, he can suck my, um, big toe......

 

Well I gave you my opinions before. So here is my latest on your search for that 3:73, there are not any left in any junkyard. It has been 21 years since they were last made and if the were scrapped out they were picked over years ago. There are no more junkyard finds.[sm=chairshot.gif]

 

Well why would u call something a 3.73 if u didnt know what it was in the first place sounds fishy. u better watch ur credit card account.

 

All I can say is that the guy made it a point to tell me that it WASNT a 3.73 (after he went to look) . If he was a real dirtbag he could have just tried to pass it off as a 3.73. All I can do now is wait till Tuesday. If he screws me, Ill just call the cops and tell em that this dude is keeping my money. Im not the type of guy to ever pull the 'call the cops thing' but Im already contesting 1 other credit card charge and it takes forever....

 

I hear buddy. But the police cant do anything what the police is gonna tell you to do is take it to civil court and ur gonna cost alot of money in lawyer fees. But I hope that is doesnt come to this. Keep us in formed of everything.

 

i repeat, get your money back and walk, save up some cash and buy a different rear end. two reasons for you to buy a new one. 1. you know exactly what your getting and 2. it will be stronger than stock and brand new, no issues, and will probably have a warranty
