I was considering getting some 3.73s. I was looking into 4.10s but someone said i wouldnt get any traction off the line? So which would be better? Also any ideas of how much a place would charge to install gears?

$500/700 plus parts for around another $400/500. Not cheap.....

anything you can do on your own, do it. a shop will overcharge buy 200% at times to make the extra money. if you have the ability, even if it takes awhile, do it yourself.

3.73 if it's still driven on the streets. It is also better traction off the line with a stock suspension.

I agree 3.73's would be better if you're still going to drive it on the streets. 4.10's will give you a nice launch but while cruising you'll be at a higher RPM.
