Default gauges

ok mine crapped out and im replaceing them. The originals died a long time ago, not sure when i got the car with after market temp and oil psi gauge under the center vent. Anyway, im replaceing them. gona put them on the a-pillar simply because i think it looks sweet. Ive got some picked out but im wondering if i should go mechanical or electric? im not even 100% sure what the difference is. Any thoughts or ideas?

Mechanical generally are a bit more reliable. Electric are usually less cumbersome and bulky.

Mechanical always seemed to be too much a pain. You have a temp probe and is usualy too short to route nice and the oil has a line with fluid running into the car with the posibilty of leaking. The factory uses electric.
