Default gauge problems

i bought a 92' rs a few months ago, the previous owner put in a carbed 350. since ive had it the speedo, odometer and temp guage have not worked. i put on a aftermarket temp guage to make sure i didnt run it hot and, ive been told my prob is most likely the speed sensor. I was just wondering if anybody else had any suggestions and could this be due to the motor swap? thanks

Im not great on the subject of wiring but my guess is the wiring was unplugged and not plugged back in with the swap if its not a really old 350 most of the pluggins should be on the new motor. Check under the hood for any hanging wires not plugged in,The temp sensor should be right under the exhaust manifolds on driver or pass side of block cant remember witch. Best bet is to get a Haynes book for the wiring run down "not chiltons". Also be sure to check all fuses.

Also the speedo is run from a gear on the tailshaft of the transmission, there should be an electric plug there that runs to a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) box under your dash, which is connected to the speedo. Check all of these connections, I bet one is just unplugged.
