Default G80 limited slip swap from a monte

I recently aquired an 87 Monte carlo ss with a 305 a/t that I'm planning to strip down because the body is rusted out. I noticed the rpo code for the rear end is a G80 (limited slip). I haven't removed the covers from both the Monte and my 88 Camaro to compare if the limited slip will interchange with my open carrier. Does anyone know if the Monte's G80 willswap into the 88 Camaro? I also read that the G80 is a gov-loc style carrier. Are these any good for moderate built engines? Is it worth my time? Thanks guys.

RPO G80 was the common code for a Limited Slip rear used by GM. As far as I knon the 10-bolt rears were used only on 3rd & 4th gen cars. So parts may NOT interchange.

The 10 bolt rears are found in lots of vehicles. Pick ups and cars alike. Its just as time progressed the rear drive platform thinned out. [&o]
