Default full exhaust

hi, i was just wondering what any of you would reccomend for a full exhaust header back in my 92 rs. can i go true dual? ive noticed that no one supplies a kit for it so i have no idea. im kind of a newbie at exhaust like what goes in chain after the headers to cats and mufflers like where is each of these and what is inbetween so if you could just suggest some specific parts and mabey a crash cours it would be really appreciated.

thanks

Major parts
1)CONNECTER from headers to cat
2) CATALTIC CONVERTER
3) PIPE from cat over axle
4) Muffler
5) EXHAUST PIPES from muffer

A complete 3" system would be the best and any company of your choice.

Full dual exhaust can be put in your car, but is is a pretty difficult job to make it fit properly. You will be better off with a large single system. Asingle 3" systemwill be more than ample for your engine.

yea i'll go with pete.i have a 92 rs, and what i did was, through some edelbrock headers that came with a y-pipe, got a new high-flow cat, and got a flowmaster muffler, with 2 tailpipes comin out of it.

i did my whole exhaust in one huge step, Headers ( 2 5/8" mains to a 3" collector) a ypipe, highflow cat by magnaflow i believe. from there a 3 inch pipeing all the way to the muffler, typical flowmaster 40 series there, and from there i believe its 2 2.5" pipes with tips to makeit look a little nicer. By the end of all that, costs around 950 bucks for me.

Everyone else pretty much covered what you should get, but here's the full list of parts on the exhaust system in order.Starts out with your headers (or exhaust manifolds for most stock motors) from there, you've got a collector on a header system, then a downpipe on any manifold system, and any header system where the collector doesn't connect directly to the cat. Following that is the cat, then downstream from there is the midpipe, and if you're lucky enough to have a true dual system (which you aren't, since there's no damn room on these cars) there would likely be an x or h pipe joining the two midpipes to equalize backpressure. After that comes the muffler, and from there you've got your tailpipe.
