Default First car, First Camaro

Just bought a 91 Camaro RS. The car is in great condition besides the body, which I'm currently in the process of painting. Painting it metallic black with 2 white stripes down the hood. Has 1 small dent near the front left tire which is also being fixed. I am powder coating the rims black until I can afford new rims/tires. Once I get the paint job finished, I was thinking of buying a V8 my friend will sell me for a cheap price. What do ya'll think?

There were a few spots on the hood and the roof. When we took the paint off it came off pretty easy and will hopefully stay off and not seep through the new paint.

Good first car, with a little work it will last forever.

good luck with the color change. There's nothing worse than looking at a black car to buy (you will eventually sell it) and opening the hood and seeing white, or a bit of white in the hatch area.

Good point, plus I would hate doing a motor/trans swap after body and paint is done, even being carefull you are asking for some dings, unless you re-move everything on the front end, and front fenders. (engine lifts love to pull into the front end under a load) I am glad I did my motor before paint. I was hooking the driveshaft straps and slid out from under the car with a wrench and accidently banged my rear quarter hard enough to scratch and dent, but it was no biggie since is was getting body/paint.

V6 to V8 swap is no job for a beginner.
Also, changing the paint color may cause title problems down the road. (NY is really funny about that)

Fix up the body, stick with white, show it off and have fun.
