I don't think you answered one of my earlier questions yet, but what state do you live in, and have you checked your local (county) emission laws? That will dictate for the most part what you can and can't do. I know there is nothing wrong with junkyard motors, but be very very carefull what you get. If you are going to get one, and not go an LT or LS route, then look for a pre-87 4bolt block.

I answered your question before. I live in Michigan. And I have not checked emission laws. What kind of things should I look out for with emissions?

Default Emissions and Purpose

With the emissions laws you need to know if you are required to have all the equipment such as cats, or smog pumps that came with the car. Depending on year in most states. Michigan I couldnt tell ya. One thing you need to think about before you do anything else is figure out what you want the car for. Racing....spare no cost and go ***** out with a stroker, tranny, wild cam, heads, etc. If you want something reliable to drive and look good doing it you can get the looks, sound of a mean *** car without the cost. Injection = big$. When you pass 350 horses apparently putting gas in it should not be an issue either. 325 horses in a light camaro is pretty respectable and quick (depending on your idea of quick). Give you an idea I had a 01 Vette with 350 horses and damn that thing was fast. Your 3rd Gen does not weigh much more. Horsepower to weight ratio is where it is.

Default A Sample

I attached a pic of what 600 bucks put in my 74 Nova> It is a 2 bolt block, quick, attractive, pushing roughly 350 horses. Swap meeted most of the parts and just took the time to clean them up. You can do alot with a little.
