RE: est problem
Some where that wire you probed is grounding out. That is most likely a wire that goes directly from the EST module in the distributer to the ECM.
Unplug the wires from the computer and the EST module and check it to ground. You should get ifinate resitance. No readings. That is saying that the wire is not grounding any where. Check the harness where the plug comes out of the distributer. It could be broken and shorting to another wire or the distributer itself.

The book shows circuit 423 as being a white wire. C8 on the ecm plug. (some times you can see small markings on the plug to let you know which one will be C8)
As for a jumper wire you would have to cut the other wire and splice. Thats why I suggest disconecting the computer and distributer module plugs and testing that wire to ground and you can also check continuity. Wiggle the wires around as you do these test also. If there is a break it may help you to find it.

Plug the connector back onto the module in the dizzy and test it at the computer plug to see if it is grounding. The module may be grounding internaly to the distributer. It has a metal base. Or take the module out and have it tested at some place like Autozone.
