It's not the tach, the car does pull through the brakes, sometimes it's even hard to stop.. The throttle arm doesn't stick, and as for vacuum leaks; one of the vacuum hose is somewhat loose but it has a clamp on it. how would I be able to find other leaks?

Doesn't seem to have any affect on the problem. Maybe the MAF needs replaced?
Did you adjust the Idle at the thottle body after you installed the new IAC??? Also the Maf is NOT the problem.

I would adjust the idle, except that the idle is only high sometimes... it will idle around 600 rpms and then 10 minutes later, jump up to 2500. So not sure if it would screw it up? Do you think I should try it?

pull off the inlet to the throttle body and visually/physically inspect the throttle body butterflies. i know one of mine had a screw broken off, but it never gave me issues. im thinking maybe that has happened to you, but you are getting the butterfly stuck partially open

Hey, I had the throttle body inlet off the other day, I didn't really observe it too hard... But the throttle body is brand new, so it shouldn't have any physical damage.

ah ha, I hopefully just found the problem. The small vacuum line that comes off the bottom of the throttle body and runs to the firewall connector, is burnt in half... I'm going to replace it tomorrow, hopefully this will fix the idle!
Thanks for the help so far

there you go, it just may help it. if not, i would continue looking at the throttle body or the gasket to it. something funny may be happening in that area since its new
