Default Edelbrock performer intake, will it fit my 82?

Hi all!
New to the forum as I have just picked up my new Camaro...a first for me so be gentle with me!

Its an 82 305ci and whilst it runs good and looks good, the engine bay could do with detailing as its very dirty. Will post some picks as soon as my camera batteries recharge.

Anyway, with the car came a box full of bits, one being a brand new Edelbrock 2101 performer intake. I know its not the best but it looks a hell of a lot better than whats on there at the moment. I think the PO did a bubba repair to the original intake which looks as tho it has a crack in it. I guess thats why there was this new one.
The EGR stuff has been removed so that isnt an issue..

So, will the 2101 fit as a direct replacement?

TIA.

Yes, it will. Your engine is still a "first gen" block. Second gen engine (LT series) came out in 1992 and was put in the Vette (that car always got the good stuff first). The performer is an all-around manifold with a range from idle-5500 rpm. Although the "Air Gap" Performer manifold would be even better, you can't beat the price of yours.

While your at it, get rid of the Q-jet (assuming it is stock), get a nice holley carb. A street avenger 570 would be perfect.

I second that! After my car had sat for a long time I rebuilt my Quadrajet, did some adjusting and it worked great. Its just a complex carb to some people.

Nothing really wrong with Q-jets, ive rebuilt and used many, but you just cannot beat a good holley... And after this street avenger I have on my 350, I wont get any other carb again.
