Default drivetrain to handle 425 hp??????

i was just offered a fully built 350 small block for $700. 4 bolt main, headers (i think for truck), forged pistons, the full tilt. now my 700r4 was rebuilt a year and a half ago. what kind of upgrades would i need tranny wise, and rear end wise? i still want some highway fuel economy (not looking for a rear end over 3.42). would the 5 speed that came in other third gens handle that much power? i would rather keep it an auto, but i dont know what all needs to be replaced to run a th-400 or th-350. what all needs upgraded rear end wise? just the gears, or do i need universals, axles, and differential?

im gonna try to knock $150 off by telling him to keep the intake and carb because i want to run the tpi. the engine wouldnt be installed for a few years, so what are some tips for engine storage? i know to plug every hole. do they make a special engine storage oil?

best bet is if you get it , dont wait a few years to install it , have it done now, cause if it sits for a long time when you install it , youll have problems

right now, im looking at not getting it. i cant install it now, im on a tight budget and my car is my daily driver. and ill be going to college in july. and if he only wants $500 for it (talked him down), there has to be something wrong with it. but if he can get it to run on the engine stand, i might buy it and resell it, i could probably make a quick $500 off it

Be careful, because this motor may have been built to run a carb, and may not be set up for FI. Diff specs for diff setups.

I would not leave it sit around, though. That will not help anything!!
Go ahead and put it in, and then see what breaks....that is what I am doing. I have an almost stock 91 Camaro, and I am just about down with a 700hp 433 stoker small block. I am going to stick it right in with a junk T-5 tranny, and a 12 bolt rear locker out of a 96 Firebird!!
Hell with it,,,run it till it goes!!!!!
That is what it is all about!! All I want it to do, is stand in the air just one time, all the way in the air!!!! If it breaks, then I will fix it!!! lol

Just put it in the car, If it's a 350 for 700, odds are it won't have 425 hp. That isnt a hard # to get but cost a hell of alot to get. so no matter what it has your car should be able to handle it.

For starters the motor you describe and what you want to with it will Never see 425 HP.
And a stock drive drain will handel it until you do something DUMB. [sm=gears.gif]

Dude, if you cant afford it, pass. There will always be nice 350's around when you are ready to drop one in.
