Default driveshaft length

I have a 89 rs with a 2.8. I'm upgranding to a 350+ with a turbo 350. I was wondering if the same shaft would work. any help is greatly appreciated.

no, the drive shaft from the 2.8 wont work as the 350 v8 and 350 Turbo together is longer in length. when you go to get a drive shaft , make sure that you know whether the ( 350T) transmission has a long or short tail shaft. you should also probably get new U joints for the new drive shaft as well.

Thanks. Is there a model name for the driveshaft I'll need or will I need one made?

no model i dont think. just go to a dealer and tell them you have a late eighties camaro with a 350 v8 and a 350 turbo transmission , and that you need a drive shaft, before you go to the dealear ship find out whether the 350T as i said has a short or long tail shaft.

Go to a driveshaft shop and get one made. If You can't figure out the length, tow the car over there and have them measure it for You.
