door panels
any tips on getting these off? i can pry them off around the sides and bottom, but the top is bein a PITA. i didnt want to break anything so i put it all back together.
Ive gotta work on my locks, for whatever reason they arent locking, they will unlock just fine, but lock dosent work very well. My guess is something is just worn out. Any ideas on what the most likely part to be worn out is? Crime rate is startin to go up where i work and i wanna do what i can for it. Is there like a little plastic fitting that would need replacement? or is it the whole motor? i might do my window motors at the same time, they are getting super slow. i figure they are wearin out.

Have the window down and once all the clips are pulled out of the door just tap on the top black piece outwards towards the glass while pushing up on the panel. That kinda unhooks it from the top.
Now is it your drivers door power lock that does not work well? Both mine and my Brothers dont work well either. The passenger side works fine! When I pull the panel off the lock works freely. Since its the drivers door and that is the side I am usualy on I give up on it!

no, its both of them unfortunatly.
so your saying that once ive got it loose, with the window down.. pull the bottom out away from the door and kinda push up?
what piece might i look at for wear?

I have a pair of wire clippers that have a big notch at the end. I just slide them under the bottom of the door panel and put the notch around the white panel clip.
Then I just lever back and forth a bit and the clip pops out without stripping all the teeth off or breaking out of the cardboard backing panel. I bet GM has a tool for that but it sure beats trying to do it by hand and killing the panel

Yes there are tools for it. They look like a wide two prong fork with an angle in it for leverage. You also do not pry up against the door. You could end up putting small dents in it. Back it with a wood paint padle or something.
But I think 350rs's problem is with the top.
When the window is down it give extra space for the top to move. Taping on that with your hand while pulling outwards and pushing up on the bottom usualy works out

with any luck it wont be to bad.
One of those black moldings are in bad shape, how hard are they to get off the actual panels and replace?
