does this sound like it would work?
i plan on getting some slicks for my car sometime in the future. im looking at getting a short tire, something like 20-22" on a 14" rim. however, that would put a funny angle on the car that would probably hurt the performance going down the track. but i find it quite easy to get the rear springs out of the car (just unbolt the shocks and sway bar links, all are new). would it be alright to put in a 1 1/2" spring spacer on both the top and bottom of the spring? it would probably take me an hour to do at the track, and would be able to undo it before i left.
im more concerned about saving my street tires for the street. the tire is a bit too big for the rim, and i already run it at 20 psi
Dropping PSI is a great way to prematurely destroy your tires and lower your mileage. Not to mention the increased resistance to movement slows your car down.
But if traction's really worth that much, by all means...
