im trying to find out what distributor i have in my damn car. it is old school and has a lead that comes out into a four way connector. by the way the car is a 86 iroc with a 88 350 tpi. really wide on top and the cap bolts down, if anyone knows what it is out of please let mme know.

 

sounds like an hei. does it have the coil in the cap?

 

ya, but i cant seem to find one that will plug into my harness.ive tried all the local parts store and all they can come up with is one with the module. can i rewire it to make it work or do i go through like jegs or something?

 

yea, best bet is throught jegs or summit. some had a 4 pin module inside, others had a 7 pin. i know mine is a 7 pin. there is a 4 wire plug going to the spark control mounted beside the brake booster, then on the cap is 1 wire for te 12v lead and another for the tach
