I was wondering if there is a converstion to go from distibuter to distibuterless ingition (something like the LS motor). I have a 383 stroker on my 85 camaro the block is from 1980 pick up

I have a DIS setup that was on my 83 Z when I bought it... I just drew a blank on the name, but it's 4 individual coil packs (2 cylinders per coil.) It mounts on top of the drivers side valve cover and uses whats like a crank trigger and a special distributor. I don't think I have any pictures of it, but here's a video of the old engine running with the DIS in plain sight:

I did have most of the paper work to go with it, but im pretty sure it most of it was left out in the rain. Component wise everything is there, but you would have to contact the manufacturer for a wiring diagram. Hit me with an offer if you want it.

EDIT: Here's the company: http://www.electromotive-inc.com/
