Default Discontinued sending units??

I am in desperate need of finding out how to replace the sending unit on my 1982 cross fire injected indy z28. I have search everywhere and have been told that they are no longer available. If anyone knows of any other applications that will work, I'm asking for your help! Thanks Greg

Have you tried Rockauto? I had a similar problem getting a sending unit for a 4.3 liter monte carlo...

I'm guessing he's talking about the fuel sending unit/pick up. Yes, all carb and CFI pickups are discontinued. You CANNOT get one new from anywhere. I spent a month trying to track one down, hoping to find one NOS or something but turned up empty.

The only options are to go used or get one for a newer fuel injected 3rd gen. I believe I got one for a 1990 TPI model and it ran just under $200 dollars from Advance. I had to modify the wiring (use the plug from my old sending unit) and place a piece of fuel line where the pump would have been. Since you have CFI you should be able to transfer the pump over no problem and just modify the harness.

Thank you all for the response, the camaro has not been started in about 12 years, ha. It only has 28,000 miles on it and is really good condition for sitting that long. So very anxious to get it running and start to revamp the interior. Thanks again and if I run into more problems, sounds like you guys are the place to go for answers.
