i have an 86 iroc-z, 305tpi with the 700r4. how much of a p.i.t.a would it be to convert it over to a 5 speed, or some price estimates. and is it worth it? im just trying to get some opinions before i go blow a bunch of cash.

not terribly difficult. gonna cost a good amount of money though.. If your going through the trouble of putting a manual transmission in, why not go with a 6 speed? It costs more, but its a lot stronger ( if you go t-56) than the t-5. Just food for thought.

 

It'd probably be easier and less expensive to just buy a car that came with a manual, as hard as they are to find.
