the car is not OBD II, so removing the cat will not throw a code. anything older than '96 should not throw a code as they typicly dont have a cat efficiency o2 sensor. now some vehicles do have an 02 sensor post cat, but depends on the manufacturer if it will throw a code. my 95 blazer is OBD II compliant, but didnt throw a code when i straight piped the cat

K if it is actually 50 extra hp then im gunna go fire up my reciprocating saw right now. Its not actually that much, is it?

Get the saw and cut the Cat out, you will be amazed and dumbfounded with the results..

no it isnt. the results of cutting the cat off arent much different then just putting a new cat on. now adays cats have virtually no restriction

i was going to buy a magnaflow high flow cat instead of just cutting off the stock one. my friend also says these days cats are pretty high flow anyway. should i go with the magnaflow or cut it off? plus do emissions laws require a cat? i live in VA...
