i think the edelbrock MPFI system seems pretty sweet (has the software so u can tune in on yer laptop, like the lil ricers!) but i cant stand FI most of the time, usualy because im dealing with ****in TBI which sucks sooooooo hard....but TPI is the bomb

if i could afford it ide be with a good FI system forever! but carbs are fun to learn on, and can still produce horribly monstrous amounts of power (peep 69 maros sig) in the right set up

I agree with Camaro 69's last post.
1.) Easier to work on!

I actually like TBI myself! A (In my opinion) Very simple FI system. And I dont plan to change it to TPI or carb anytime soon. I like carb on older cars but I REALLLY hate new FI (Ive done an FWD Engine Swap on a Nissan before And I will never do that again, WAY to many damn wires!)

Carburators are great one trick ponies. All the addons to a carburator are just bandaids to make it work. Choke, accerator pump, idle circuit are all bandaids. A race car is designed to go fast in most cases they are one trick ponies so carb work great for them. One of the big advantages carb have is that they can handle the choppy vacuum of an all out race engine. This is whymost race teams do not run FI.

Fuel injection can let a car get 27MPG and have 350 HP. There is also a huge advantage to be able tocontrol the fuel mapping and the timing curves. For around town drivning EFI really does much better the a carb ever could.Drive it all day long like granny but at night hit that WOT and watch that car turn into a monster. With all out tuning of a EFI system your can have a engine react completly different at say 60% throttle then it does at 50% throttle just by running it a touch richer and increasing the timing curve. Course a factory tune is limited by emisions but not aftermarket. In the end Carbs will lose but we will still see them around for the next 20-30 years
