Default Carb or injection?

Ok, i have a 92 rs and i am unsure of what exactly it is classified as. It looks like a carb, but doesnt act like one. It has two barrels and right above the barrels are two injectors(i guess you can call them that) when you step on the gas, the barrels open up and gas is shot down into the engine. I dont think there are any fuel injectors on the engine either so i am curious.

also, you can step on the gas as heavy and as quickly as you want and you wont stall the car like a normal carb

A poorly tuned/ maintaned carb will stall. Not a normal one.
You are looking at a TBI (Throttle Body Injection).

Yea, the throttle body in simple terms is a carberator converted to fuel injection. It has two fuel injectors above the butterflies to inject fuel. The manifold and air cleaner are pretty much the same yea. It's a throttle body.

Eh, it's Throttle Body Injection, all fuel injected cars have a throttle body, so to say that the system is called Throttle Body is incorrect. TBI would be the easier, and more comonly used term for it. Also, the manifold is entirely different for a chevy 2 bbl TBI than for a carbed model. The manifold is this little emphesimic block of metal for the TBI, which is part of the reason it's got such crap power from the factory. A carb manifold is wide open by comparison, as far as space for airflow on the mounting surface. I could go on, but not right now. In any case, you're better off with the TBI than a carb, but it takes alot of modufication to get to the point where you'll believe me on that one.

Yes you can put a chip in. I had a chip in my carbed 84. (my carb did not stall)
My pic did not post the first time so here is another try. This is the top of a TBI
