Im still looking for grill inserts for my 82........about 2 weeks ago I stumbled across Camaroland in California, they stated they were some HUGE junkyard with all sorts of Camaro stuff. I put in an inquiry and forgot all about it. Today, some lady calls me and tells me to call their tech line (huh, you call me to tell me to call you?) and says they have what I need.

Now, we are talking about two small grilles, about 5x7 in size. The guy quotes me $125 EACH SIDE!!!
Are you out of your friggen mind! Does California have a different currency that Im not aware of!? $125 a side for junkyard take off parts! Ounce per ounce this guy might as well be selling gold! Then when I told the guy in a very polite manner that I could get them cheaper NEW, he wouldnt let me off the phone, kept going on and on about how the parts are discontinued and so on, told me that I wouldnt be able to find them anywhere else.....

Then, 5 minutes later this same guy calls me back and tells me some story that he JUST found another set and for TODAY only he would offer me the set for 75 bucks, but I had to buy them RIGHT NOW! I told him I wasnt interested and he hung up on me. Who do these people think they are??

But, I still dont have my inserts. [&o] (but I still have the 250 bucks he was gonna steal from me!)

Oh wait, Santa Rosa....I am not suposed to go that far out of my yard. Don't worry about them for now. Get your freakin car going Damn it! I need to hit the pick and pull I will look then. (when I have the energy)

 

Go kick his *** for me! Ive got a bucket of misc SBC parts Ill send you as payment. (distributors, waterpumps, valve covers, etc!)

The car is up and running again. I installed NEW starter bolts and a .020 shim on the outboard side. She works like a charm now. I tell ya though, that noise was horrific.......

On another note, I installed a 1/2 phenolic spacer to cure my hot start issue. Holy crap, not only did it work, but it added some SERIOUS low end omph!

Time to go drive it! (till my next catastrophe)
