Default brakes

I have a big problem... The other day my brakes felt week and the brake light pops up. automatically im thinking brake fluid. I look at the fluid level and its nearly empty. ok so i fill it up and try to bleed it and all that. well it just kept sucking all the oil everytime I pushed on the brakes and that was after 2 bottles. Then im like ok there's a problem here and I must have a leak. I didnt discover where the actual leak was coming from until today. I discovered my leak is coming from the back passenger side drum. Well, the leak is not coming from the outside of the drum but its dripping from the inside. I tried to get the drum off by pulling it but Im not having any luck here. I need to get the drum off so I can try to fix this leak so I can get pressure in the lines. Please help and let me know what I need to do in order to get this drum off. is there a technique or something? I got a 91 camaro rs TBI.

You are going to need a wheel cylinder to fix the leak. To get the drum off look for a washer type of retainer on any of the studs. If there is none then the drum may need to be smacked with a hammer in between the studs to break it loose. Hand brake is off also. Sometimes if you can turn the drum by hand you can also pull on the drum while doing it and kinda unscrew the drum from the brakes. You are most likely gonna need shoes also. They have been contaminated with fluid.

He is right, you are definately going to need shoes, and a new cylinder (complete with seals) or a rebuild kit. If you've never rebuilt one before, buy a new cylinder. It would be wise to inspect everything BEFORE you buy a new one, just to make sure that is what the problem is. Best of luck...

Worse comes to worse there is also an adjustment hole at the bottom. Get a brake spoon and close the self adjster so the brake shoes clos so you can get past the lip on the drum. Other than that they are right about the shoes and wheel cylinder. I would also change the drum on both sides and shoes on both sides.
