Default Bought engine!!

well i bought my motor today you guys. 350 but its a 2 bolt though im kinda sad but i dont think ill be racing the car often so it should be ok?

i think 2 bolt is a disadvantage if you want to achieve over like 400 hp, 399hp is enough to bury 99% of cars out there.

4 bolt mains aren't necessary unless you're bumping the engine up to some higher compression ratio numbers and intend on revving the **** out of it. For a relatively "normal" engine, 2 bolt mains are more than sufficient.

im just looking to build a 383.. street/strip car it will be ok for that right? I mean if it only hit the strip maybe once or twice a year?

and if it came down to it. i would just buy 4 bolt mains and drill hte block and have it threaded prob solved

No, a 2 bolt should be just fine for that. My wife's brother built an alcohol injected drag car and I think he said it had 700 horses and it was a 2 bolt. It was one of those really sleek long cars that only one person can sit in. I cant remember their names though.

I would not use a 2 bolt main block for a 383. If you want to build off that block, get the 2->4 bolt main kit from Eagle. You will have to have the motor line bored then, and honestly good 4 bolt blocks are a dime a dozen, so you could probably pick one up cheaper than it would cost to convert that 2 bolt.

but those splayed 4 bolt main caps are a bit stronger. TOTAL over kill for what your wanting however
