Default Bogging issues?? If that makes sense

So, here is what happens, I start the car and everything is all good but when I back out of the driveway and put it into drive, it sounds like the engine is going to kill and its not getting gas for a few moments and then it kicks in and everything works fine. I don't get it, one time I got so frustrated with it that while it was doing that I gave it more gas and when it kicked in I looked behind and it had let out a bunch of black smoke. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you might be running rich, but yeah, more info is needed.

It's a 5.7L TPI injection and is a 4 speed auto if that matters

sounds like a feul pressure regulator issue. does it do it all the time, or just cold?

Just cold, honestly by the time I accelerate from a stop the third time it's usually either almost gone or gone, but I'm sure temperature has to do with it

how hard are you accelerating? i had a co-worker complain about that with his 89 supra. he was nearly flooring it while it was cold. when an engine is cold, it will operate differently and sometimes undesireably.

I'm not by any means accelerating hard, I'm just trying to move, I keep the revs around 2000 rpm, I'm just not sure what could be doing it, maybe vacuum leaks?
