Default Big Brake Problem

Soo i just put new brakes on my 89 camaro rs and i drove it for the first time and the car would slow down fast and i no i got to adjust the back ones because they are drum brakes. Butt the front and the the driver side back were HOT AS HELL my rims was so hot it couldnt be touched. And only one hub was cool.
and my pads are adjusted so they wont rub. but i dont know why they seem to lock up?

Since you know your back brakes need to be adjusted, you should do that first before worrying about it. Could be that the backs just aren'tcarrying their weight and throwing an extra load on the rest. Now would also be a good time to replace your old brake fluid in the reservoir and bleed all fours too.

sounds like ur calipers are seized and causing the brakes to drag pretty bad if everything got that hot. id try taking the fronts back apart, including the caliper mount, and cleaning the surfaces where the pads sit with a scotch-brite pad on a grinder. get it all down to bare metal and then put a good amount of brake lube on everything. also make sure the piston moves in the caliper.

ya i did it the first time i was replacing them but it has to do with my paportion valve. (however you spell it)
i redid them last nite and double checked every thing and when i broke the paportion valve loose it did not leak brake fluid like its supose to.
so im figuring it is that or my front brake hose is kinked orpluged.

Glad you got it figured out. How were your lines plugged, crap inside? I hope you bled your brakes at all four wheels to get all the bad fluid out so that doesn't happen again.
