I'm looking to put one of these into my 88 RS and was just wondering how they've functioned for you people that have them. I've heard very good and very bad things about them. Personally I think they look awsome so thats not my concern. I was wondering more about the shift patterns and function of the shifter. Basically I am looking for an explantion of how to take it from regular auto to ratcheting gears manually. And also how it functions while ratcheting. Thanks alot!

 

im not sure exactly how it is, but i do know that i fiended for one in all my 3rd gens....the console megashifter is definitly nice!

 

check out the hurst dual gate shifter, its made to fit factory for third gens it looks cool, it has the factory shift pattern on the left and each individual gear on the right

 

I looked but to be honest I prefer the 4speed styling of the Mega Shifter.

 

I have the mega shifter in my 88 IROC and I love it. It gives the interior a more aggresive look. They are really easy to use. The wiring is a little weird because you have to make sure that the neutral safety switch is wired correctly as well as the reverse lights. Also I enjoy the sound of hittin the shifter hard while racin and you dont have to worry about it slippin into reverse.

 

Could someone post a picture of how these shifters look installed.
