Default Advice needed please

Hello

newbie here
i had a black 88 IROC in high school with 5.7 and rear wheel disc brakes.

I am in the market for the same car, I am looking for advice on what options I should be looking for?

Thank you you in advance

Not sure what you mean, factory options? upgrades? In '88 an IROC with a 5.7 (350) was about as good as it gets for Camaro,
If you mean options in finding one there are many but finding a low mile clean unmolested one will probably take a while and a good chunk of change.
They're out there to be sure but more are out there with a lot of miles and usually needing some TLC of not a lot of tLC and that can get expensive as well.
If your pockets are deep enough I'd go with the first option, they're only original once and maybe you can find someone's garage queen sunny weekend car that's been kept pristine and has low miles.
There's plenty of search engines but this one will give you an idea of what you are up against. https://www.carsforsale.com/1988-che...r-sale-C110397

Default Thank you

I found a local 87 Iroc with 28K miles all original in excellent condition. He won’t budge from 15K, however it is a 5.7 with disc rear brakes which I think are very desirable options.

Is 15 to much or a fair deal?

thank you

From what I've seen online (did you browse the links I posted?) that's not bad but it's a supply and demand deal and a lot depends on your location.
For instance you might find many more of the same car in southern California than you will in say someplace like Bismark North Dakota so a seller in SoCal with have to compete for buyers a lot more. So research in your local market is advised.
When I was looking for my car I had specifics ,I was looking for a 4th gen SS LS car with a 6 speed and it needed to be under 100K miles and in very nice condition.
Well nationwide I found lots of them in places like Texas but up here in the Pacific Northwest they were few and far between.
I finally found my '01 SS with 86K miles on it and very nice but it took me over 6 months of daily searches to find one with in a days drive to have a look at and test drive.
I was starting to get discouraged when this one finally came along.
Getting back to your car from what I've seen the 3rd gen cars are fast climbing in collector value and in particular with the specifics that you want being the best of the breed so to speak, had you been looking a few short years ago one could have been had for about 1/2 what they want these days, the strong economy is driving up costs on all collector cars and these 3rd gen cars have finally gotten old enough to join the collector car status.
Good luck on your search,28K mile 30 year old cars are out there but they are few and far between in some places, post up what you find we'd love to see your prize when you win.

Default How much

Hi guys
just checked out a 1987 Iroc, 5.7 t top car, odometer says 24K miles and owner says it’s legit.

car has a bunch of dings and scratches all over it, top of roof is completely faded, front and rear bumper covers have paint cracks from what appears to be light hits. A/c does not work, temp gauge stuck straight up, door skins falling apart, drivers seat bolster has a couple of small rips. Tire are completely junk, not even safe to drive. From 10’ away car looks awesome

what do do you think it’s worth?

thanks

You sure it's not 240K miles?
I don't see how a 24K mile car could be in that bad a shape,I'd run not walk away from that one I think.

Default Agreed

Yes I agree, I’m going to do a carfax and see if the mileage looks right or any mileage discrepancies.

Thank you
