Default 92 RS V8 305 remanufactured engine

I've been driving my current 92 Camaro RS Anniversary Addition for about 4 years and have grown very fond of it. Sadly the engine recently threw a piston rod and is no longer usuable. Should I buy a remanufactured V8 305 engine to replace it and if so what kind of trouble might I run into while the old one with it?

Sadly I can't find a cheap lt1. I'm looking to go with a 5.7 350 TPI. Is it possible to swap this into my 92 RS V8 305?

That would great if that is true, I'd rather not have to worry about about getting a new/different transmission to put in it.

I bought a long block 350 from Kragen auto 5yrs ago and put it in my 92RS which of course came with a 305. Still runs like a champ, thing was cheap too at the time, only 900 bucks

Yes All small block Chevy's of the same year are the same on the outside, just different bores and strokes till you get to the LS engines, then its different

is your engine tpi or tbi? i suggest as well upgrading to a 350, and just about everything will work. you will need to change injectors though. if its tpi, you will need 22lb injectors. if its tbi, im not sure what type of injectors it needs, but you could just use ones off a 350 truck, just make sure the replacement engine is for the 92 year. during the late 80s there were numerous minor changes made
