A motor swap into a v6 car, I would not even think about it.
Cheaper to go out and find a 350 car.
That all depends on where you get your parts. I purchased two Astro vans, a 96 and a 97, for a 4.3 swap in my moms S10. The two cost $500. One was wrecked, the other I changed Intake gaskets and sold for $1600. I got a complete 4.3, 4l60E, wiring, computer and $1100 for whatever else I need for the swap.

We are talking about a swap into a 3rd gen car ONLY. I am not saying that you can not swap a V8 into a V6 car, only that it would be a lot of work and expense. You can rip everything out and put a Carb'd V8 in but it would not be legal for the street in certain states.

I live in California so I am well aware of smog laws. I did not see anything about carbs in his post. Cali, any motor 92 or later. Or if the motor was in a previous year with all the stuff that went into a 92 they can be fooled. I am installing a 96 4.3l into a 84 2.8l truck. The 4.3 is a 90 degree small block with 2 less cylinder. The 2.8 is a 60 degree. Since S10 did not come with V8s, some $40 motor mounts from JTR that bolt to the 2.8 issolaters. No big! Canmaro's came with V8, Change the brakets on the crossmember. It is not much more work than if you had to replace the 6.
